One of the most striking aspects of Daniel Phillips work is his use of text to imbue his repetitive positive affirmations, ideas and intentions. Daniel's internal narrative is often combined with his favourite themes: travel, planes, trains and artist models (such as Picasso). A fervent and dedicated artist, Daniel is an avid portraitist and uses quirky composition and perspective to create caricatures of himself and others around him. Often working in large scale, Daniels acrylic paintings draw you into an energetic and assertively positive world where Daniel's own drive is expressed through his animated works. Daniel is also a prolific potter, exhibits regularly both locally and internationally ( in New York Outsider Art Fair) and has work in collections throughout NZ and abroad.
